Degenerics, Fanshen, Parade Brigade Fanzine, Stormshadow, Try Fail Try
My biggest memory of this show is talking to Degenerics about doing an interview for what would eventually be the first issue of Parade Brigade Fanzine about a year later. I would put out another fanzine that summer, but I was already thinking ahead of doing a hard reset. Degenerics were a great band that gets overlooked a lot. I am sure I watched Stormshadow because I was friendly with members of the band, but I don’t remember anything about Try Fail Try or Fanshen.

Antidote, Floorpunch, Hands Tied, Mouthpiece, Nerve Endings, Only Glory, Out Of Body, Revelation Records, Search, Token Entry, Turning Point
This show seemed to pop up real suddenly a few weeks before, but I made sure to get a ticket. I have always missed Token Entry at their reunions (1994, 2011), so I definitely wanted to check them out. Adding Search to the show definitely sealed the deal for me. I missed both Out Of Body and Only Glory because I was outside waiting for a friend to arrive at the show. Nerve Endings were okay, but I didn’t feel too moved by them either way. Search are a new band member ex members of Mouthpiece, Hands Tied, Turning Point,…

Bracewar, Down To Nothing, Floorpunch, Get Real, Invasion, Mind Eraser, Righteous Jams, Staring Problem
When Floorpunch started playing gigs again, I kept missing them because of school and then work. This show was originally supposed to be in December, but a big snow storm the day of the show postponed it for a month or so. I got so lost going to this show. I missed my exit on the Turnpike and had to drive around in a circle for about 20 minutes before figuring it out. I missed a few bands, but got there just as Mind Eraser began playing and I watched them from the back of the room. They opened with…

Bane
This show was either in 1998 or 1999. It was definitely before Bane really blew up. I am not so sure who else played this show, but I remember there was a really mixed crowd of people. There was a strip club next door too. I remember a few people bragging they were going to go there after the show. Great.

Ten Foot Pole, Vision
Vision had a record out on Epitaph right around this time, so they played some shows with those kind of bands. I went up after work and hung out in the front of the show with a few friends for most of the show. Vision were good, as you can see from the video. I do not remember much specifically about this show, but I know a lot of the crowd were pop punk types who had no idea what to do when people started going off. I did not watch, or care, about any of the other bands.

Daredevil
I have no recollection of any bands that played this show, nor who Daredevil were, but I was there. I went with a friend from middle school and his sister, who both kind of tip-toed their way into punk for a little bit. She brought baked goods, which people thought was really weird back then despite all the shows that had soggy VEGAN PASTA shit on tables. That’s about all I have for this one.

Fracture, Franklin
I went to this show, but mostly hung out in the house for most of it. Exciting entry!

Murphy's Law, Underdog
I do not remember the venue this was at, but I think it was some kind of cafe in the newly redone Asbury Park. A band with Russ from Underdog in it also played. Murphy’s Law were GREAT at this show! They stuck to the hits, even opening with “Intro,” which got the dance floor really moving. The only problem was they played FOREVER and after about an hour I went outside. They played for another 30 minutes or so.

Integrity, No For An Answer, Pulling Teeth, Quick Fix Magazine, The First Step, Triple Threat
A few weeks before I began graduate school, we headed out to New Hope to see this show. Triple Threat covered a No For An Answer song at this show, which was a little different from what they normally did and that was cool. I had never heard Pulling Teeth before and thought they bit on Integrity pretty hard but with some modern influences that kind of worked. Justin loved them. The First Step were fine, but the small audience kind of hampered those kinds of bands I think. Justin interviewed Pulling Teeth and that interview and my pictures appeared in Quick…

Breakdown, Ensign, Fastbreak, Floorpunch, Full Speed Ahead
My first year of college was finally over and to celebrate this show happened on the final day! Brilliant, right? I went to campus in the morning, took a math final (which also had a few Brick Town crew people in it), and then drove back down to Manahawkin for dinner and then to pick up everyone for the show. After stopping at a rest stop (for some reason I have a vivid memory of this) we headed up the show and made sure we got there on time. We had seen Full Speed Ahead the previous summer and spent…
