Cryptic Cookies For Jesus, Fastbreak, Floorpunch, In My Eyes, OS101, Reach The Sky, Vision
This show was done by Maggie Rosario. I did a flyer for it with a Sailor Moon background that I only have a cruddy scan for at the moment. My only copy got wrecked when I pulled it off my wall to scan, so I had to take it out of a fanzine. I also helped get Reach The Sky onto this show sometime during that week. Back in the 90s we got so much done via ICQ and AOL Instant Messenger before texting, Skype, etc. CC4J were a band that got back together to play some shows around this…

Ensign, Fastbreak, Fit For Abuse, Purpose, Rain On The Parade, Skewbald
This show was mostly an average 1998 NJHC show except for the opener…who absolutely blew our minds… After a long day at work some friends met up with me at my house. I took a quick shower and we got on the road to Manville, which was like 80 minutes away or so. The night before I had a conversation with a friend who said to make we got to the show on time because the opener was incredible. Fit For Abuse absolutely blew our minds. Not too many bands were more influenced by the 82 style, yet, at the…

Rain On The Parade did not play this show. They had played their “final” show, before getting back together the next summer, a few weeks before. This was the record release show for the Floorpunch LP. The record had come out maybe a month before and we had been listening to it non-stop. I went on a date the night before (with someone who ended up being best friends with the sister of a friend of ours) and could not sit still during the date because I was so excited for the gig. I worked all morning and when I…

25 Ta Life, Assimilation Or Oblivion Fanzine, Commin Correct, E-Town Concrete, Fastbreak, h2o, Hardware Fanzine, Mouthpiece, Tied Down
This was a big end of summer show in Red Bank. I remember Tied Down playing, but they may have switched their name to Prospect by then? I think Rich might have organized this show even? There was a flyer for sure, but I do not seem to have it. Commin Correct definitely played this show. I had interviewed Rick earlier in the summer and this show served as the debut for my first fanzine Assimilation Or Oblivion. I began wanting to interview Mouthpiece, Hardware Fanzine, and Fastbreak, and ended up with h2o (that a friend did) and 25 Ta…

Breakdown, Ensign, Fastbreak, Floorpunch, Full Speed Ahead
My first year of college was finally over and to celebrate this show happened on the final day! Brilliant, right? I went to campus in the morning, took a math final (which also had a few Brick Town crew people in it), and then drove back down to Manahawkin for dinner and then to pick up everyone for the show. After stopping at a rest stop (for some reason I have a vivid memory of this) we headed up the show and made sure we got there on time. We had seen Full Speed Ahead the previous summer and spent…

Dan Hornacker, Ensign, Fastbreak, Geoff TDT, Good Riddance, Hands Tied, In My Eyes, Joe Oz, John Coltrane, Judge, Kurbjaw, Matt Smith, Nate Gluck, Sean McGrath, Shutdown, Sisters Of Mercy, Spice Girls, The Purpose, Turning Point, Weapon X, What Was Said Fanzine
This show was one of the big end of summer shows (along with Back To School Jam and the show that Gordo did) as the summer of 1997 began to wind down. We packed a crew into my car (and literally packed lunch) and headed up to the show. Weapon X would play their only show. WX had members of Ensign, Purpose, Kurbjaw, and some others and played pretty generic 1988 hardcore. They covered Turning Point and Judge. I interviewed Nate after the show. Their 7” was released in a limited edition of 200. I ended up with a handful…

E-Town Concrete, Fastbreak, Fury Of V, h2o, Killing Time, War Zone
I think Fury Of V played this show too. Killing Time canceled. This was the first time I saw Fastbreak. I had just heard them a few days before (remember, music traveled a bit slower back then) and they were really good. This was also the first time I saw E-Town Concrete too, who seemed to play a ton of shows back then. This was a record release, or right after it, for the first H20 album. I remember a ton of people from my high school were at this show. Lots of rando pop punk kids. That is why…

Dag Nasty, Ensign, Fastbreak, Floorpunch, Follow Through, Kill Your Idols, Rain On The Parade, Saves The Day
This was the record release for Ensign’s first album. There was a major snow storm and some sleet in the area for this show. Of course, Justin and I forged ahead, almost got in an accident, and still managed to basically get to the show first besides a few random people. A few of these random people approached us while we sat on the back of my car. They looked kind of redneckish and said they loved Ensign, but also a bunch of tough guy bands. The one then called someone a fag and said that the bands they liked…

9 Lives, Agnostic Front, Crown Of Thornz, Fastbreak, Hands Tied, Ignite, Madball, Rain On The Parade, Redemption 87, Ten Yard Fight, Tension Building Fanzine, Uniforn Choice
The above video is from the day before at The Down Under in New Brunswick, but I went to see the newly reunited (and minus see crappy songs) Agnostic Front with Madball, Crown of Thornz, and some others. Seasonal allergies had just hit that week, so I was pretty sick after going crazy (and getting in a fight where like seven TOTALLY TOUGH AND SCARY skinheads went after me for DARING to try to break up a fight. One of them was like THIS IS NOT YOUR CONCERN. Oh, why didn’t you tell me this was SKINHEAD BUSINESS? Carry on!)…

Issue three would be the end of Parade Brigade Fanzine and, as promised in issue two, we mostly only reviewed records that were sent to us. Boy were some of these records awful! John and I handle most of the reviews with only the Carry On and Esteem records getting both of us. Issue four would have had a Carry On interview that I think John actually did…? Our friend Ryan, who did a lot of grunt work with me getting this issue thrown together as quickly as it was, jumped in to do a few reviews as well. 200…
