Hindsight, No Contest, No Regrets, Purpose, Special Forces Records
This was a Special Forces Records showcase show. I want to say it was sometime in the summer of 1998. According to the web, No Contest, No Regrets, Purpose, and Hindsight played this show. I took a few pictures at it, but don’t remember much more about the show.

Bold, Breakdown, Citizens Arrest, No Contest, One Sided War, Out Cold, Wide Awake
Wide Awake did not play this show, but No Contest got added as they had two new records coming out. They were a great band from here in NJ. I do not remember anything particular about their set or Fanshen, although I swear I took pictures of them? I loaned out a lot of pictures back then and most never got back to me. One Sided War was a new band with Matt Warnke from Bold and Pat from Citizens Arrest. They sounded like later Bold, sort of, but I also thought they had a lot of influence from later…

Ignite, No Contest, Purpose, Rain On The Parade, Shutdown
My first show of 1998 took me to Yardley again, which had been the site of an infamous show a few weeks before. I don’t remember much about Purpose. No Contest opened with the intro from Age Of Quarrel (the song), which was pretty cool. Ignite were really late to this show. Shutdown played a long set where they busted out a ton of covers. Rain On The Parade hopped on and played a quick set too. I used to love it when this happened. Finally Ignite got there and pretty much got up on stage and began playing. They…

7 Seconds, Cro-Mags, Embrace, Inside Out, Life's Blood, No Contest, Purpose, Second Choice Fanzine, Uprise, War Zone
I don’t think there was a flyer for this show? I think one or two other bands might have played this show, but I don’t remember who else they were. This might have been the first time I saw Purpose and I remember they covered Inside Out and Embrace, which seemed so out of left field in comparison to the youth crew style that was so popular at the time. I think a lot of people checked out Purpose, at first at least, not only because they were a decent band, but because their style was so different from what…

25 Ta Life, Brian Jordan, Dan Skebra, Double Cross Webzine, Mouthpiece, No Contest, Tim McMahon, Uprise, War Zone
A few years ago, I wrote this for Double Cross Webzine. Tim & Gordo ended up never doing anything with it, so I have done some editing and reproduced what I wrote here. So, my senior year of high school I was working on a new fanzine. This would be my first full length, pretty serious effort, fanzine after a couple of false starts. I really wanted to interview War Zone, so a friend (Dan Skebra?) gave me their voicemail number and I called it up. After leaving a very nervous message, I didn’t hear anything for about a week…
