Floorpunch-Shark Attack-Ekulu-Stag Party-Fence Cutter @ Asbury Park NJ 6-1-19

I missed the opener because I was outside catching up with a lot of friends. Stag Party not only has members I went to college with, but also to high school with! Neat. Ekulu is a band I just cannot get into at all. Every song feels like it is a minute too long and something is just….off. No one seems to agree with me about this though. Shark Attack, with some lineup changes, were really good and busted out a new cover of “Bloodstains” even. Floorpunch were solid as always. They are so tight these days. Porter alluded to…

Title Fight-Get Real-Night Birds-Full Speed Ahead-Stick Together-The Little Rascals-Blind Justice-Heavy Chains-Krust-Stag Party @ Howell NJ 6-28-14

When Bob Shedd puts on a gig, you know it is going to be good. Full Speed Ahead are playing a few shows this summer. I missed their last reunion gig in 2006 (?), so I knew I had to head out to this show. This was also my first gig of the year. One of the great things about living in Mount Holly is the commute. Full Speed Ahead-The Explosion-Stag Party-Born Annoying-Defiance Engine-Manalive @ Asbury Park NJ 7-26-14

This was supposed to be a secret show, which was not kept very well, for Bl’ast! on the east coast. They ended up cancelling their tour, but the show goes on with The Explosion replacing them. I debated not going to this show after a few friends bailed on it, but figured I could check out Full Speed Ahead again. The show time apparently got pushed back, so this show ended up going really late. After a dreadful time finding parking, I got to the show before any band had even played. This was going to be a long night.…

Cro Mags-Heavy Chains-Manipulate-Stag Party-Blind Justice at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ 12-19-13

I ended off 2013 by heading out to see the Cro-Mags. They haven’t played down the shore probably since the show at Middlesex County College in 1994 (which my friends skipped to go see Earth Crisis and Four Walls Falling in Philadelphia! Dicks.) unless you count them playing at Club Krome in 2002. The semester had just ended and I trekked across the state to get to the gig. I ran into some friends at the show, but everyone was kind of off in their own little worlds, which is fine but it made me feel like I was always…
