Good Clean Fun-The Hope Conspiracy-A Death In The Family-American Nightmare-Spark Lights The Friction @ New Brunswick NJ 4-23-00

This show was on Easter and didn’t get a great turn out. I mostly went to see the first, and only, I think, show for A Death In The Family. A friend of mine was in that band. Members had also been in 97a, Kurbjaw, and some others. This was one of the three or four times American Nightmare played NJ before they really blew up. I don’t even remember watching them, nor did I watch any of the other bands. I mostly remember this show for a long discussion I had after it with a friend in the parking…

Good Clean Fun-The Hope Conspiracy-A Death In The Family-American Nightmare-Spark Lights The Friction @ New Brunswick NJ 4-23-00

I only went to this show to see A Death In The Family, which my friend Chris played in along with former members of 97a and some others. They did a demo that is pretty good. I don’t remember any of the other bands. This might have been American Nightmare’s first show in New Jersey. Like Bane, it took awhile for people to get into them, but once they did the band absolutely took off. I saw them 3-4 to minimal crowds, but then they got so big. My biggest memory from this show was hanging out with a friend…

Parade Brigade Fanzine #1: The Reviews

We put out Parade Brigade Fanzine #1 in the spring of 1999. I have no idea what show we released it for, but I think it was at Manville Elks Lodge. Maybe. Amendment 18 Demo This band has members of a number of bands (Insted, Chorus Of Disapproval, Outspoken, etc) I had different expectations for this demo expecting more moshy stuff, but I got straight forward hardcore with interesting breakdowns. Lyrically, this isn’t as “militant,” as xChorusx was, but good all around especially “Eulogy.” I look forward to more. BW Bane Holding This Moment Equal Vision Records Bane sort of…

Better Than A 1000-In My Eyes-Speak 714-Good Clean Fun-Battery at YWCA Philadelphia PA 7-12-98

Fresh off working 15 days straight because my burn out boss couldn’t get it together to hire someone else, I headed to Philadelphia to check out the Revelation Records rehash tour heading through America during the summer of 1998. I kind of didn’t like most of these bands, but we wanted to see In My Eyes and interview Dan O Mahoney, so off we went. I remember absolutely nothing about Battery, but I think Good Clean Fun jumped on after them. They had just put out their demo, so the, uh, “joke” was pretty fresh at this point, which would…

Parade Brigade Fanzine #2: The Reviews

All three “staff members” did reviews for issue two. BW=Bill Wend, John=John Piorkowski, Ferret=Justin Bragg I got a ton of shit in the weeks before that In My Eyes record came out. I got it in the mail, listened a few times, and posted one morning on the Rev Board that I did not like it. I said it reminded me of Better Than A Thousand and was kind of shitty. I went to class and came back to this huge thread about what a fag/loser/pussy I was. LOL. Oh noes, I didn’t like your precious friend’s band and their…
