A Chorus of Disapproval, Black Sabbath, Bold, Confront, Crucial Response Records, Deep Six Records, DYS, Helmet, Infest, Intent, Magic Circle, Manpig, Negative FX, No Comment, Outburst, Shipwrecked, Slayer, The Rival Mob
These never went up last year I guess… Magic Circle Scream Evil People from the usual Boston bands come together to do this two song single of Late seventies and early eighties inspired Black Sabbath style metal. This reminds me a lot of the excellent Dio era record The Mob Rules. I have heard there is an LP out now? Manpig The Grand Negative Deep Six Records I love being proven wrong in hardcore, and the fact that this long rumoured record finally has happened is a great example of this. Manpig has been a legendarily rumoured band as long…

Black Sabbath, Totalitar, Tragedy
John and I made the trek to Philadelphia in a pouring rainstorm for this show. I remember we listened to some random reissue of Sabbath’s “Live At Last” album that totally remixed and messed with that record. We walked in just as Tragedy began playing and they were great as usual. Hilarious story from this show: So they bust into “The Day After,” which has this awesome mosh part in the middle. All the scumbag crust punks are walking around in a circle, so a friend of mine and I start moshing and going off. I got grabbed by some…

Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Lush, My Bloody Valentine, Rise Above Records, Slowdive
Electric Wizard Black Masses LP Rise Above Records After being pretty lukewarm on their last few records, and not liking this one when it first came out, I am beginning to get into the latest record from Electric Wizard. Their previous sludgy, “stoner rock,” style has been accenuated by what I am deeming as some influence of bands like Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, and Lush. Really! Shoegazer meets Black Sabbath. This is growing on me…

These are our personal pages from Parade Brigade #2. Again, mine is very brief. #2 All I have to say is it’s good to be back! It has been a really long time between issues, shit happens, things just get in the way. In the future we will hopefully be doing this more often. Things have been hectic and priorities change. I can no longer spend 24/7 on hardcore even though I somehow get sucked into doing it sometimes. Hardcore is in my blood, this is the kind of thing which will keep me involved in the scene. I love…
