A Thin Line Fading, By My Side, Down In Flames, Embrace Today, No Justice, Rain On The Parade
I remember spending a lot of this show sitting in the back reading a book for one of my classes. I was taking a 20th century fiction course and was really taken by a few of the stories we were reading in the class. The professor for that class kind of had a punk background and checked out my fanzine of that era. I probably watched Down In Flames. However, the draw at this show was the first local appearance of No Justice, who had already gained quite the reputation for themselves without any recorded material. The hype was huge…

Down In Flames, Fast Times, Holding On, Plan Of Action, Shark Attack, Tear It Up
I mostly remember this show for some of the covers that happened at it. Down In Flames covered Full Speed Ahead, while Fast Times covered Life’s Blood. I think I took pictures of both bands at this show, but I don’t have them anymore.Maybe Tear It Up too? I might have taken them for someone zine, so I just passed them off. Not sure. Shark Attack played a rousing set that had the room moving. They were so good live and got such a great reaction every time.

Down In Flames, From The Black, Kill Your Idols, The Movie Life, To Each His Own
I remember this show being fairly lowly attended for some reason. Down In Flames covered Full Speed Ahead (I think this was the show), which was really cool. Shore bands who want to get over with the locals should do that. Kill Your Idols covered Sheer Terror (but not Here To Stay). I think I went to dinner during a few of the other bands. I remember this was right before a new semester began, or maybe it had begun that previous week, and after one of the worst summers of my life I was ready to go back to…

Dillinger Four, Down In Flames, Kill Your Idols, Something In The Water
I don’t remember a lot about this show. I think I hung out outside of the venue for most of it. I saw Dillinger Four a few times, but never liked them. They were also one of those bands that people got “over” hardcore would get mad if you didn’t like.

Boiling Point Fanzine, Down In Flames, Half Off, Hardware Fanzine, Mouthpiece, Rain On The Parade, Striking Distance, Teamwork Records, Time Flies
This was a long day! In the fall of 2000 I had three classes in the early afternoon up in Toms River: Gender Studies at 1200, Statistics at 1300, and then Biology at 1400. We had lab on Friday so my partner and I hurried through our lab stuff and I drove back down to Manahawkin to pick everyone up for the show. We then drove ALL the way up to Wayne, which is at least a two hour drive. I remember it was freezing cold and occasionally snowing as we drove up to the show. In the rush to…

Issue three would be the end of Parade Brigade Fanzine and, as promised in issue two, we mostly only reviewed records that were sent to us. Boy were some of these records awful! John and I handle most of the reviews with only the Carry On and Esteem records getting both of us. Issue four would have had a Carry On interview that I think John actually did…? Our friend Ryan, who did a lot of grunt work with me getting this issue thrown together as quickly as it was, jumped in to do a few reviews as well. 200…

Bold, Down In Flames, Ensign, Running Like Thieves, Supertouch, The First Step, To Each His Own
I definitely went to this show, but I don’t remember a lot about it. This may have been the first time I saw both The First Step and Running Like Thieves. I remember Running Like Thieves doing their usual Bold/Supertouch/etc covers. Speaking of covers, I swear Down In Flames busted out a Full Speed Ahead cover at this show. Anyone remember? Ensign were about to do a new record, as the flyer says, and they had a bunch of new songs. I don’t think I had seen them in awhile and I remember not liking their new songs. That is…
