Eyehategod-Negative Approach-Sheer Terror @ Philadelphia PA 5-10-19

Three absolute heavyweights coming together for a quick and really solid show. Sheer Terror were a little sloppy at times, but generally really good. They played a good mix of new and old. From the first note, Negative Approach were a fiery ball of rage. One of my friends told me I spent the first few songs just smiling and nodding along. John Brannon is still the best vocalist in hardcore. I had not seen Eyehategod in a very long time and they were great. A good mix of old and new. What I really liked about this show is…

Title Fight-Get Real-Night Birds-Full Speed Ahead-Stick Together-The Little Rascals-Blind Justice-Heavy Chains-Krust-Stag Party @ Howell NJ 6-28-14

When Bob Shedd puts on a gig, you know it is going to be good. Full Speed Ahead are playing a few shows this summer. I missed their last reunion gig in 2006 (?), so I knew I had to head out to this show. This was also my first gig of the year. One of the great things about living in Mount Holly is the commute. To either of our main campuses, it is basically 15 minutes each way. This is great during the school year; many of my colleagues have very short drives to one campus and then…

Striking Distance at Manahawkin NJ 2002 (?)

I don’t remember a ton about who played this show other than Striking Distance, but we had a lot of fun hanging out outside of this show. Our friend Brett brought his laptop and we watched episodes of Sealab 2021 in front of the venue and generally just hung out all afternoon. Striking Distance were good and I remember busted out a Sheer Terror cover at the end of their set.

The Business-War Zone-Blanks 77-Cause For Alarm-Blood For Blood @ Wetlands In New York City NY 3-2-97

This was, I think, the first time I went to a show in New York City. I went with a few of the local skinheads, this girl Jessica and her boyfriend Chris, and I think someone else tagged along. They wanted to see The Business; I really wanted to see War Zone. After the hour and a half or so drive from the shore, we met up with some of their friends and a few of mine, who informed us that War Zone were filiming a video at the show (see above). I remember standing on line for a long…

Mental/Mind Eraser/Get Real/Robot Whales/Little Rascals

Mental/Mind Eraser/Get Real/Robot Whales/Little Rascals May 6th 2005 Brick NJ Dave Flynn and I headed up to Brick for this one. We almost bailed upon finding out that Mind Eraser had canceled, but I am glad we still made the trip. Since it was just the two of us, we took my truck to its first hardcore show in a few years. At this point Dave usually drives so it was actually somewhat cool to drive for once. After dealing with the pouring rain, some crappy directions, and a trip to the mighty Santosa’s for vegan Chinese food, we finally…

June 18th 2005 Get Real-Splitting Headache-Little Rascals

June 18th 2005 Little Rascals–Splitting Headache–Get Real–Righteous Jams At the last minute, I believe Righteous Jams canceled this show. The show went on however. After going to get food we caught the tail end of whoever the opening band was. I believe they were from Brick, but I’m not entirely sure. At the end of their set they busted out a cover of Floorpunch’s Not For Me. Cool. The Little Rascals were, albeit a bit sloppy, really good again. They opened with a Bad Brains cover and proceeded to play songs off of their seven inch and a couple newer…
