Snake Apartment Paint The Walls LP Parts Unknown Records One of the better bands of the past few years has been Snake Apartment. After an impressive demo, they followed it up with this LP. Influenced by early Nirvana, Wurm, Melvins, Malfunkshun, and others, Snake Apartment play very dirty hardcore that would have fit in well on SST or Sub Pop in the mid to late eighties. Definitely worth checking out.

Jello Biafra & The Melvins Seig Howdy CD Alternative Tentacles Records After being pleasantly surprised by their debut CD last year, I have to say this follow up is a bit of a disappointment. Black Flag My War LP SST Records 1983 I first heard My War the summer after my first year of college. My War was exactly what I needed at the time; the brutality, the dense often claustrophobic feeling of the record perfectly captured what I was, and still am, feeling at the time.
