Alternative Tentacles Records, I Object, Minor Threat, Pro Choice, SOA, Untouchables
I Object Teaching Revenge CD Alternative Tentacles Records Wow! I Object are a great new band on Alternative Tentacles who play homage to old harDCore. I hear a lot of SOA, The Untouchables, and Minor Threat here. If I would’ve been told this was an unreleased tape from the Flex Your Head era I wouldn’t have thought twice. I am also very pleased by the lyrics on this one, especially Like A Billboard.

This interview was originally in Parade Brigade #3. Thanks to Scooter Kane for originally hooking me up with Matt Kelly to do this. * What is going on with Fit For Abuse? I heard you are doing a record with My War Records? We’re starting the recording process on Wednesday March 7th, which will be released on My War Records, yeah. It’ll be a 12” 45 rpm type thing with about fourteen songs (none of which were on the 7”). We’ll probably end up finishing up in late April or early May when Pat and I get back from tour.…

Iver-Premier Drum Set, five toms, and seven cymbals Sounds pretty wealthy Chris-I’ve basically got a Fender Precision bass with a piece of shit body and they sanded the sticker off so nobody would believe me, and I broke the other one… Mike-I have Marlboro thirty seven watts of hell amp… So you guys played at CBGB’s…garsh… Iver-Yeah that was December 26th, 1981 It must have been a thrill Chris-Yeah because today I was looking at a Blondie book and…

Not Normal was a fanzine I started in 2002 but never really got it off the ground. I did like the idea of combining more personal writing (2002 was a particularly ugly time in my life for a variety of reasons) with hardcore content, but a second issue did not really go anywhere. I am happy still with most of what is here. It is definitely a time capsule of that time in my life. Not Normal #1 would have probably featured The Snobs and a reprinted Bikini Kill interview. The Snobs broke up before I could interview them and…
