Top 100 Of The Nineties: Burn

Burn Self Titled EP Revelation Records 1991 Burn are one of my favorite bands. When I first heard this record this was pretty mind blowing. It was still hardcore, but it sounded fresh and new without getting too metal or stupid. This is proof that you can do something “new” with hardcore without bringing in corny mainstream riffs or anything stupid like that. This record is still available from Revelation Records. Apparently they finally fixed the misspelling on the back. Burn also finally released their 2nd recording on CD as The Last Great Sea. There are a lot of great…

Judge-Where It Went: The Complete Discography

Judge Where It Went: The Complete Discography CD Revelation Records What more can really be said about Judge that has not already been said? This discography contains all of their released material- NY Crew Ep, Bringin It Down LP, Chung King Can Suck It LP, There Will Be Quiet… EP, plus a couple demo tracks. In sort of Schism related news, Ronny Little has a new interview with Alex Brown up about Schism’s precursor Loveseat. Porcell is now playing guitar for Bold yet again. I am not really a fan, but good luck to those guys. I am looking forward to the Generations compilation on…

Ensign

We did this interview at Princeton Arts Council in May of 1998. I believe this show was with Speak 714, Rain On The Parade, and Automatic. I can’t really tell you about what they are doing these days, but at the time we all really liked Ensign. A lot of my memories of that era have been soured over the years, but we used to have a lot of fun whenever Ensign played. Their first 7” has held up pretty well over the years. Justin and I handled most of the questions. When I went to type this up I…
