Degenerics-Endeavor-Worthless-Dead Nation-The Illbilly Boys-Bankshot 18 @ Casino Skate Park Asbury Park NJ 6-26-98

So this show was fine and all, but my big memory of it is the night before someone IM’d me claiming to be Matt Molnar and said they would get me on their guest list. I knew Matt pretty well, so I thought this was cool and headed up to the show. He had no idea what I was talking about and it turned out I had been pranked. I could have laughed it off, but I was actually pretty pissed. So three or four years go by and I finally figured out who it was that did it. This…

Ensign-9 Lives-Kill Your Idols-Step Ahead-Public Urination-Rise Above-A Moments Peace @ Asbury Park, NJ 1-29-99

I do not remember a ton from this show, but the big thing I remember is interviewing Kill Your Idols in the bathroom of Casino Skate Park. That was the only quiet place we could find unfortunately. It stunk in there and we did a quick interview to get out of the place. I never printed the interview despite Parade Brigade Fanzine beginning right after this. I also did a Purpose interview right around this time that never got printed. Actually, I think that might have been at Casino Skate Park too maybe? I do not know why we never…

Antidote-Full Speed Ahead-Dynamo-Worthless-Straight To Hell-To Each His Own @ Asbury Park NJ 3-27-99

After a pretty iffy Antidote show in Red Bank a few weeks before, we headed up to Asbury Park to see them again. Full Speed Ahead were also playing, but another band really impressed us. Dynamo was Carl The Mosher’s, ex of The Icemen and Underdog, newest band. In fact, I think a few people from his lineup of The Icemen were in it? They were great NYHC kind of mixing up the 82 and 88 styles. People started going off and also Rat Bones was there getting down. We had gotten to know him a little bit and despite…

Ensign-Grade @ New Brunswick NJ 2000 (?)

This show was either in 1999 or 2000, but it is a little fuzzy in my head. I do know that it was on a week night and I needed to leave as easly as possible for a morning class (which could mean 2000 because I had an art history class at 8am with Carson, a few bros, and a bunch of pretty prepped out young ladies who hung out with us (!?) instead of the bros. Wah? I am still confused about tthat one for sure). Ensign were….Ensign at this show. I remember Chris Oliver sang Lou Kollar’s part…

Converge-Indecision-Turmoil-For The Love Of…-Dillinger Escape Plan-You & I-Nora-Try Fail Try @ Edison NJ 10-3-99

This was an odd show for me to go to, so I am so fuzzy on who played this show because I spent a lot of time hanging out with other friends who were randomly at this show too. If you are not from the area, you need to know that people would go to Middlesex just to hang out. I probably did it once or twice myself. I do remember Dillinger Escape Plan because at the end of their set the last song faded out, but then we all heard some familiar drum beats and then suddenly they busted into…

Degenerics-SOV-Worthless in Red Bank NJ Summer 1996

This was my first experiences with all these bands. S.O.V. I would see a lot over the years and of course DJ ended up in Full Speed Ahead too. Worthless were a pop punk band I did not like. Degenerics were still kind of getting their sound together at this point, but eventually they would be pretty raging. One of my friends interviewed S.O.V. and Worthless at another show, but I do not know if he ever printed them or anything.

Ignite-Rain On The Parade-Shutdown-Purpose-No Contest In Yardley PA 1-4-98

My first show of 1998 took me to Yardley again, which had been the site of an infamous show a few weeks before. I don’t remember much about Purpose. No Contest opened with the intro from Age Of Quarrel (the song), which was pretty cool. Ignite were really late to this show. Shutdown played a long set where they busted out a ton of covers. Rain On The Parade hopped on and played a quick set too. I used to love it when this happened. Finally Ignite got there and pretty much got up on stage and began playing. They…
