DropDead were one of the first out of the area bands I ever saw, and some of the first out of the area people I began corresponding with in general. While their sound has changed a bit over the years, their early records are on constant rotation in my house and at the gym. I had a DropDead patch on my bag in high school and wanted to interview them for a fanzine back then, but it fell through for this or that reason.
I spent a lot of this show catching up with friends. A lot of people, including some of my friends who do not typically go to shows anymore, came out to see DropDead, which did not surprise me. They were excellent and played a great mix of songs both old and new. It was nice to see those guys for the first time in a long time. Brian’s fanzine was one of the first I ever bought at a show.
Planet on a Chain are a new band for some old friends of ours and have a few records on Revelation Records. They sound like a bit of a mix of their previous bands (Tear It Up, Talk Is Poison, etc) and were well received by the locals. I picked up a shirt and have been listening to their records a lot.
