Against The Grain, Degenerics, Dozed Theory, Fast Times, Probable Cause, Standing Order, Tear It Up, Three Against One, War Zone

I think that was this show. They played ASS (lol) a few times. Three Against One covered a War Zone song at this show. I went to college with a few people from that band. Andy was later in Tear It Up and a bunch of other bands. I don’t remember Degenerics playing show, but that doesn’t mean anything. I think I bailed for awhile to go eat dinner.

A New Enemy, American Nightmare, Champion, Death Threat, Outbreak, Striking Distance
Looking back, this was a really big show putting together some of the biggest bands of the time period. There have been so many bands called Outbreak over the years that I don’t even remember which one this was, nor do I really care probably. A New Enemy covered a Bad Brains song I think? Cro-Mags
This was, as far as I know, the first show back for the Cro-Mags with both John and Harley. I remember they went on around 1am and we had to wait for HOURS for them to play. Finally they did and it was pretty wild. I dove a lot and nearly landed on Harley once or twice, which he remarked on between songs. Breakdown, Foundation, King Nine, No Warning, Suburban Scum, Think I Care
I was only at this show for Breakdown, of course, but I ended up getting there really early so I had to watch a lot of other bands. I liked Think I Care back in the 00s, but their last album was much slower and heavier and kind of dull. They played a good mix of songs at this show. Dillinger Four, Ensign, Something In The Water, Voices Forming Weapons
Something In The Water had members of No Contest and a few other bands. I was very excited to see Voices Forming Weapons, who had members of the excellent band All Chrome. I don’t remember much about their set at all, but their demo and other records have been collected on an album. The vocalist for VFW is now in Sweet Jesus. I remember nothing about Ensign at all. A Death In The Family, American Nightmare, Good Clean Fun, Spark Lights The Friction, The Hope Conspiracy
I only went to this show to see A Death In The Family, which my friend Chris played in along with former members of 97a and some others. They did a demo that is pretty good. I don’t remember any of the other bands. This might have been American Nightmare’s first show in New Jersey. Like Bane, it took awhile for people to get into them, but once they did the band absolutely took off. I saw them 3-4 to minimal crowds, but then they got so big. Candiria, Clubber Lang, Ensign, IDK, Indecision, Sick Of It All
I got in a brief scuffle during Sick Of It All’s set at this show. It was stupid and really bummed out afterwards because a few “friends” kind of distanced themselves from me. Whatever. In the summer of 99, I was so miserable and really falling apart. I don’t want to go into it too deeply on here, but right around this time was one of the lowest points in my life. Full Speed Ahead, Kill Your Idols, Life's Halt, No Reply
A few different narrative lines going on at this show. The first one is the Life’s Halt/No Reply tour coming to New Jersey. These bands were red hot during that summer and a lot of people wanted to see them. I wasn’t a HUGE fan of either band, but I remember them being good at this show.
